Sketchnoting

Sketchnoting is creating a visual story while listening to a speaker or reading a text.

Today, 2F and 2G attempted to sketchnote their thoughts and connections to the text Wind Power. This was the first time we have done this and we were excited to see how it would work in the classroom. We started off by Mrs Rushworth reading a paragraph from our text, from there we continued to add pictures and words to our visuals and our learning came to life.

We had to talk with a partner about our Sketchnotes and then share what they were thinking on their page.  We summarised what our partner communicated with us.

Chris – “Gursewak was thinking about bubbles, air, clouds, Earth and the sun. Some of these are cold and some are warm. They all use Wind.”

Lachlan – “Navroz was thinking about the sun, cool and hot, kites and trees. He was thinking about these because they all connect to Wind. I knew he was thinking about these things because I could see it.”

Charli – “Brianna was doing a lot of clouds and a bent tree because you said wind can sometimes bend trees. She added blue texta to the wind because we found out that wind can sometimes be cold.”

Harun – “Ari drew a tree being pushed by the wind and he drew the Earth being heated up by the sun”.
